Spring Cleaning

April 11, 2016

It’s been months since I’ve written a post! I know, I suck. I haven’t had time slash haven’t been that inspired to blog. BUT – I’ve been thinking about my personal brand recently, and I really want to start being more active and growing my community. I’ve been going through a little discovery/transition phase for the past two months or so, and it’s time I get my shit a little more put together. So here are some goals of mine now:

  • BLOG MORE! I updated the look and design here on MelissaAlam.com so that it was more of a blog layout when you land on the homepage. This will push me to post more fresh content on a weekly basis as I’m trying to grow my personal brand a bit more. I do a bunch of cool/random shit, and I want to share it more with the interwebs!
  • WORK ON FEMME & FORTUNE’S BUSINESS MODEL! I’ve had the site for three years this summer, and it’s time that I turn it into the beast that it should be. I’m brainstorming some ways to turn F&F more into a business, so stay tuned for more updates on that.
  • PLAN FEARLESS 2.0! The first Fearless (Philly) Conference was such a bomb experience, and I’m working on pulling it all together for a second round. I’m signing the contract for the venue soon, and from there I’ll be looking for speakers, sponsors and all that jazz. I. Can’t. Wait. Tentative date – October 1st hehe.
  • HAVE FUN! Pretty easy right? We’re waiting patiently here in Philadelphia for some beautiful spring weather (rumor has it that it’s coming this week yay), and my goal for the season is to have as much fun as possible. That means going to more events, taking more pictures and editing them on a timely manner and be outdoors as possible.

I hope you all like the new layout (don’t mind the kinks as I’m working on them still), and I do hope you come back and visit again. Also, shoutout to my friend Kat for taking this recent picture in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. Photos from that trip will be coming shortly because I had such a blast down there!
